An asteroid the size of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet that has more than a 2.3% chance of hitting Earth has just been discovered. The asteroid, named 2024 YR4, is currently 27 million miles away and has a 1-in-43 chance of hitting Earth in 2032.
It’s actually the shortest odds we’ve seen of a possible impact ever, although with a probable miss of 99%. At least we can’t blame Trump or the Tories for this one!
