This road was laid out in the 19th century when it was called Crescent Terrace. N°s 5-13, located on the north side of the road, facing the Smithfield were demolished as part of the Borough slum clearance programme.
The Wrexham abattoir was located here until the 1990s replacing the old slaughter-house in Holt Road. During the Second World War it became the central slaughter-house for a very wide area surrounding Wrexham. It was closed and demolished in the l 990s.
