Let’s hope everyone whining about the new Wales tourist tax never have to visit Manchester, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, Liverpool, Blackpool, Great Yarmouth, Tweed Valley, Loch Ness, or Moray & Speyside which already have tourism taxes often referred to as “City Visitor Charges” or “Visitor Levies”. Strangely you never heard any of the protests when these taxes were imposed, and Cornwall will soon follow. The Welsh Tourism Tax is a proposed charge set to be introduced in Wales from 2027. It involves a fee of £1.25 per person per night for most accommodations (like hotels, B&Bs, and self-catering stays) and £0.75 per night for campsites and hostels. The levy aims to fund local tourism infrastructure, promote sustainable tourism, and support the Welsh language. All this fuss for the price of a bar of chocolate? And it hasn’t even arrived yet……..

An asteroid the size of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet that has more than a 2.3% chance of hitting Earth has just been discovered. The asteroid, named 2024 YR4, is currently 27 million miles away and has a 1-in-43 chance of hitting Earth in 2032. It’s actually the shortest odds we’ve seen of a possible impact ever, although with a probable miss of 99%. At least we can’t blame Trump or the Tories for this one!

Scientists have updated the doomsday clock and it has been moved even closer to Midnight – meaning the risk of humanity creating a man-made catastrophe that will wipe out all humans is even greater. Is it any surprise that this has happened since Trump started threatening the rest of the world? Can he even read a clock?
